Wests Illawarra Cricket Club

Cricket Club based in Figtree, NSW, Australia.

Wests Illawarra Cricket Club, as it is known today, was founded by a simple re-naming of the then Coniston Cricket Club at the Annual General Meeting in 1949/50.

For many years, the foundation name of "Western Suburbs Cricket Club" has remained in place representing (at the time) all the new surrounding suburbs in which it’s members predominately resided.

In more recent times, "Illawarra" has progressively become part of the name identifying the Club to a region within New South Wales for both incorporation and sponsorship.

To the locals, the Club is more commonly known as "Wests" or "The Devils", which is its emblem. The club colours are navy and red.
